‍Life

The best part of my life has always been the people in it.

I’ve built a life around people who challenge and steady me. My partner, Cameron, has been beside me for more than fifteen years. We can talk for hours about anything and somehow still find something new to say. He fuels my creative spark and makes the impossible feel doable. He’s the rare person who reminds me why I want to reach my potential and why rest matters too. My parents raised me to stay curious. From my dad I inherited a fascination with how things work. From my mom, a sense for color, texture, and the small details that make something beautiful. They never tried to contain my independence, which is probably why I’m still busy exploring everything at once. My sister is the fiercest person I know. She’s bold, direct, and unshakable in the best ways. I like to joke that she’s the older sister in spirit, because I’ve spent years trying to live up to her. The rest of my family extends beyond blood. I have a close group of friends who’ve been around for twenty-five years or more. They know every version of me, which is its own kind of intimacy. I joke that I hold my friends hostage, though they seem fine with the arrangement. The truth is they’ve all helped build the person I am... steadfast, curious, occasionally over-caffeinated, and grateful for the company.

Nothing here is perfect, and that’s sort of the point. The film jumps, the light leaks, the color drifts. I think that’s where the charm hides.... in all the little ways the world refuses to be polished.
