Living with dogs has taught me about momentum. They move first and think later, which feels like an honest way to live. I admire that kind of certainty. When a dog wants something, the whole world bends toward it... food, play, sleep, affection... It’s efficient. They also keep the studio interesting. Hair in the paint, paw prints on contact sheets, a tail in the shot right when the light is perfect. They remind me that control is mostly a myth and that a little mess makes everything more alive. Claire takes her job as companion seriously. She checks on me during edits, guards the yard from imaginary threats, and demands breaks exactly when I need them. She’s proof that discipline and chaos can coexist, sometimes in the same heartbeat.
